Learn about Singapore's centralized assessment for international students
The Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) is a centralized assessment conducted by the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) to evaluate international students' academic ability to join Singapore's mainstream schools.
There are two types of AEIS examinations: Main AEIS (September) and Supplementary AEIS (S-AEIS in February). Each serves different admission timelines and has specific entry requirements.

- International students not currently enrolled in Singapore mainstream schools
- Dependent's Pass holders
- Long Term Visit Pass holders
- Student's Pass holders
- Immigration Exemption Order holders

- Singapore Citizens
- Singapore Permanent Residents
- Students currently enrolled in mainstream Singapore schools
- Students with outstanding school fees in previous Singapore schools

Important Notes
- Primary level applicants must obtain required CEQ scores before applying
- School placement decisions are final
- Secondary level applicants take both English and Mathematics tests

Application Process
Step-by-step guide to applying for AEIS examination
Step 1
Create Candidates Portal Account
- Visit the official SEAB Candidates Portal
- Prepare passport number/FIN
- Have a valid email address
- Keep contact numbers ready (yours and next-of-kin)
Step 2
Document Preparation
- Birth certificate (with English translation if needed)
- Passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- Primary Level: CEQ test results
- Previous school records
Step 3
Registration & Payment
- Primary School: SGD 430 (inclusive of GST)
- Secondary School: SGD 630 (inclusive of GST)
- Payment via Credit/Debit Cards or PayNow
- All fees are non-refundable
Step 4
Application Status
- 'Pending': Initial submission completed
- 'Registered': Application approved (takes about 4 weeks)
- 'Ineligible': Application rejected

Entry Proof
- Download from Candidates Portal once approved
- Contains test venue and reporting time
- Includes desk number and test schedule
- Required for test day admission
